Authorizations to Navigate

Yachts that are not locally registered require special permits to operate in the Galapagos.

We take care of the entire legal and administrative process for you—navigating local regulations, port clearances, and requirements from the Galápagos National Park (Parque Nacional Galápagos). We recommend starting the process at least two months in advance, though we’re also equipped to handle last-minute requests quickly and efficiently.

With hundreds of successful expeditions behind us, we know the Galapagos like few others. Our team customizes each itinerary based on your guests’ preferences—whether it’s hiking exclusive trails, diving with marine life found nowhere else, private snorkeling or dining in hidden restaurants

Every voyage is carefully designed by combining expert knowledge of the sea, weather patterns, anchorage points, and Galapagos Nacional Park regulations. This ensures your experience is not only unique, but also safe, smooth, and respectful of the delicate environment we operate in.

Due to strict conservation policies in the Galapagos, a significant portion of your voyage cost covers mandatory local fees, permits, and contributions to the Parque Nacional Galápagos. We believe in full transparency and sustainable tourism that benefits both travelers and the islands themselves.

We understand how complex it can be to source supplies in a place as remote as Galapagos. That is why we have developed a highly efficient logistics system to provide fresh, local and imported products on board. We work hand in hand with demanding chefs to carefully select each item, especially fruits and vegetables of superior quality.

Gala-George Company

Fuel Services

The only fueling station in the Galapagos archipelago is located on Baltra Island, specifically in Aeolian Bay. Its GPS coordinates are 0°26'10.8″S, 90°17'07.0″W. This station is operated by PETROECUADOR, Ecuador's state-owned fuel company.

In order for a vessel to refuel at this station, GALA-GEORGE must first register the yacht in PETROECUADOR's system through a process called “Fuel Code Authorization,” which can take up to three working days to issue.

Deliveries are available every day of the week. It is essential that vessels request the exact amount of fuel they require, as it is not possible to purchase additional fuel on the spot or to leave previously requested fuel uncollected.

The fueling dock is 80 meters long and 10 meters deep at high tide.
